Nokia 9 PureView Overview Video Camera

With the release date almost here, it's time to have a quick talk about this new Smartphone that has kept Nokia in the spotlight of late. First off, what is the release date: The release date for the Nokia 9 PureView in the USA is said to be March 3rd 2019. I'm not sure when it will be available in the UK, but it shouldn't be too far away from the US date. There is a discount for people who buy this phone within the first week its available for sale, where it will be $600 instead of $700. Or round abouts. So grab one while you can if you want to save some money.

Stand out features of the Nokia 9 PureView

It has a high definition P-OLED screen measuring just under 6 inches, fingerprint reader, 6GB RAM, 128 GB built in storage space, and an impressive battery life for a Smartphone. The operating system is Snapdragon 845. So all in all not bad. However, the main feature focus for the PureView 9 is, of course, the cameras. I say cameras because there is five of them. A little over the top perhaps but 5 cameras it is. All working together to produce an excellent image. Very complex.

Each camera sensor is 12 mega pixels, and the results are said to be pretty impressive. See the official video below. The video introduces quite a few different Nokia phones, so if you only want to hear what the speaker has to say about the PureView go to 7:34 of the video.

Is it worth the price tag? Well, in terms of picture taking, if you're after a Smartphone with a great but unique way of doing things then yes, perhaps it is. No top of the range newly released Smartphone is cheap these days, and the much anticipated Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is more expensive than this model. But many people think its the much better device overall and far more deserving of holding out for. It's being released on 8th March 2019  The choice is yours.

Texts Only Phone: Punkt MP01 Phone UK - Don't Get Punked: There appears to have been a trend going on for the last year where people who are usually Smartphone reliant now want to downgrade their le...

As if the price wasn't bad enough. When you take into account the bad build quality of the MP01, lack of 2G coverage, not forgetting all the bugs its riddled with, it's easy to see why many people are regretting there purchase of the Punkt MP01. The review scores on websites like Amazon.com, with the rating score at 2.5 stars out of 5, really confirms this.

You would think to build a phone that's "dumb", as in it doesn't have a full blown Operating System, that the makers would be able to really focus all their energy and  ideas on features, reliability, and making damn sure that the phone is worth the money. But it isn't. Most features don't work and longevity of the phone is disappointing. It's crazy to think the Punkt MP01 costs more than most Smartphones! You really are better off with an older model Nokia 3210 or 3310.

Is The Punkt MP02 Any Better?

Well, the quick answer is no. It's just as bad, if not worse than the MP01. It's extremely expensive in both the USA and the UK and has seriously bad reviews. Complaint after complaint. Riddled with problems. Poor reception, Bluetooth doesn't pair / work properly and software very buggy. And if that wasn't all bad enough, to top it all off, for a phone with no full blow Operating System, not running any energy draining Apps, and having a black and white display that uses minimal power, the MP02 has an unbelievably bad battery life.

For a phone that costs so much money to buy I would have thought Punkt would have made a much better product. These phones are filled with problems, and are certainly not worth the price or the annoyance that comes with them. A very poor attempt at trying to make an up-to-date "dumb" phone. Buy an older phone, it's much cheaper and more reliable. With the Punkt models, they look great, but looks are very deceiving!
